words garnished on a rough tongue
often becomes a delicious platter at a deaf feast
dwelling in a different dimension,
silenced thoughts should sue backspaces, discards, and drafts
someday
for the sins they’ve done

a bleating lamb is halal-ed and silenced
somewhere in the Middle East
blood dripping from its neck
writes its story on the butcher’s sheet

we become silenced thoughts
when tongues are compared with a knife
and then trimmed by the same knife,
so we don’t lick off masks that people don
henceforth, we deliberately swallow our opinions,
yet we subtly vent our spleen on
someone else’s phone screen
