Patterns

P A T T E R N S

If you think a human mind follows total randomness and difficult to understand, then you’re wrong. The inability to find a pattern in one’s life makes you believe that.
A pattern is nothing but a repetitive action on a repetitive perception or a repetitive state of mind.

Just like any other action, smoking a cigarette is also an action. A smoker’s mind craves for a #cigarette on the occurrence of various patterns that has been stored inside his brain in the form of memory.
For instance, let’s suppose that a person has a habit of smoking a #cigarette after taking heavy dinner. Every time, after taking his dinner, when he smokes a cigarette, his mind stores the action of smoking along with the perception and state of mind at that particular time. His mind, with the help of organs, takes data from the surrounding and associate with his mental state. Therefore, if the same pattern, which he smokes in, occur irrespective of taking his dinner, then in that scenario, without a doubt, he’s going to light a cigarette.

To quit smoking, he needs to erase the pattern from his mind. And, to erase the pattern, he has to quit smoking after taking heavy dinner. He can smoke, but he has to do it randomly, so that his mind gets confused and cannot associate his action with a pattern. Slowly, he can quit smoking without getting the feeling of craving in the future.

Therefore, people, who generally don’t follow patterns, don’t get addicted to anything, for their mind is constantly storing new patterns that are being written over old patterns.
