Everyone is a genius. But, if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.
I always thought that the author of the quote is Albert Einstein, because I saw this quote written on many pictures, which seemed to be motivating, on Social Medias with the name, “Albert Einstein”, under the quote. After doing some research, I found out that this quote wasn’t said by Albert Einstein. According to a website, which keeps record of quotes and their original authors, hasn’t found enough evidence to confirm that this quote was actually said by Albert Einstein.
Anyway. Right now, it doesn’t matter who said this, as the quote, itself, has the worth to be stand-alone, as this quote perfectly describes the education system of our country where every student is put into the same frame whether they fit in or not. This quote is a jibe at the institutions who turn humans into sad creatures who unwillingly follow instructions for the rest of their lives after graduating.
I, however, feel that this quote isn’t complete, as the time has changed since this quote was first said. It should be amended to fit in the current scenario of the world.
But, if the fish put its heart into and mind to climbing the tree, then THE FISH COULD CLIMB THE. TREE.
The above line can be added to the quote to make it complete. However, it’s another thing if the fish doesn’t want to climb the tree, but if the fish really thinks that climbing the tree is its ultimate purpose, then it’ll someday climb the tree. But, if the fish is confused like people nowadays, some days think about swimming and other days think about climbing, then it can neither swim distant oceans nor climb the tree.
Now, the same thing applies to us.
We need to quit this habit of changing our dreams and goals after seeing a really cool movie or television show. Believe me. Whoever is portraying that doing a particular job is really cool is getting enough amount of money to show it on the screen, as nobody likes their jobs and the people who like their jobs are the one who don’t get instructions and deadlines.
So, don’t be a daydreamer and be a doer.
Do only one thing that truly makes you happy and put your heart into and mind to it when you don’t get enough motivation and feel hopeless. Have faith in your mind and heart, for the darkest phase will get over no matter what.
